Specialization in MDS : Pedodontics

Pedodontics is the branch of dentistry dealing with children from birth through adolescence. It also incorporates the management of difficult children, the physically and mentally challenged ones in addition to the medically compromised children.

Pediatric Dentistry is an age-defined speciality that provides comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs. Students are trained in aspects of child psychology, behaviour management, preventive dentistry, interceptive orthodontics, management of decayed teeth and traumatic injuries. They are trained in radiology pertaining to children, dental health education and school dental health programmes.
